Lillian
Chan, Chief Operating Officer
Ms.
Chan is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Operations for
NextBus, including customer support. She has a diversified background
in customer service, project management and finance including fourteen
years of operations experience. Prior to joining NextBus, Ms Chan
was a Vice President of New Applications and Support Services for
Alysis Technology, Inc.
She
holds a doctorate degree in business administration and her research
interests include organizational behavior and technology management.
Her latest publication on "technology adoption" was published
in the February 2000 edition of IEEE Transactions on Engineering
Management.
John
Eaton, Chief Financial Officer
Before
joining the NextBus team, Mr. Eaton was Vice President of Business
Development and then COO of ICplanet.com, a Web-based marketplace
for independent consultants. He was instrumental in establishing
long-term strategy, raising venture capital and recruiting the senior
management team. Mr. Eaton was also COO of Clear Ink, an Internet
design firm. During his tenure, ClearInk was ranked the 33rd fastest
growing company in the bay area by PriceWaterhouseCoopers. He has
over 25 years of experience in the business community. He has held
senior positions at Broderbund Software, Maxis and T & E
SOFT.
Before
entering the software industry, John developed projects in countries
with centrally planned economies and non-convertible currencies.
He graduated from Dartmouth College and received his MBA from St.
Mary's College.
Michael
Smith, Director of Engineering
Mr. Smith is responsible for the engineer department at NextBus.
He has 26 years of experience in software engineering. His specialties
include User Interface design and algorithms. His interest is in
making complicated technical solutions easy to use, simple to understand,
and useful to transit passengers.
Previous
to NextBus Michael worked for 14 years in the field of robotics
doing research and development in User Interfaces and path planning
at Hewlett-Packard Laboratories. Mr. Smith earned a Masters Degree
in Control Theory from UC Berkeley.
Joe
Monaco, National Sales Director
Mr. Monaco came to NextBus from Westinghouse Electric Corp.,
where he worked on the team that introduced GPS to the transportation
industry. He has been involved with the implementation of CAD/AVL
systems in transit systems throughout the nation. Mr. Monaco earned
a degree in Business Management from Johns Hopkins University.
