Help Information

NextBus tracks transit vehicles using GPS and uses historical travel times to determine when your bus or train will arrive at your stop.

This application uses your GPS location to determine the stops that are nearest to you. Predictions for those stops are shown in order of how close the routes are to your current location. By tapping on one of the predictions you will be brought to a page for that specific stop. You will see the predictions but also a live map showing your location, the location of the stop, the route and even the live location of vehicles.

If you need prediction information for stops that are not nearby you can use the Menu selector and then manually select your Agency, Route, Direction, and Stop to get your information. Simply go back to the menu page and then click on the Select Specific Stop button.

If you see an asterisk * next to a prediction it means that the vehicle has not yet started its trip. For such situations the prediction might not be as accurate because the prediction is based on the scheduled departure time.

Note: if a vehicle does not have a working tracker or has not been properly assigned to a route then predictions cannot be made for it.

If you are using an iPhone make sure you bookmark this application. In this way it will be even easier for you to get your arrival information plus this will behave like a reall application instead of a website.

GPS on your phone issues

If you are using an iPhone and you accidentaly hit the "Don't Allow" button when the system asked you if it could use your current location then you need to reset the GPS location system. To do this, from your homepage click on Settings > General > Reset > Reset Location Warnings, and then try again. Unfortunately after you do this it can still take up to 2 days for your iPhone to allow this application to use your location again.

If you are using an Android phone and you accidentaly don't allow the application to use your GPS position then you can:
In your web browser go to your settings page by going to Menu > More > Settings and in the "Privacy Settings" section make sure that "Enable location" is checked. Then do one of the following:
- Select "Clear location access" to delete your location preferences and have the browser ask you again, but this applies to all web sites.
- In the "Advanced settings" section, open "Website settings" then select "www.nextbus.com" to enable location data for our site.
